Services of fully equipped and well stocked libraries, which include IT Suites with training courses, are available in Lichfield, Burntwood and Rugeley.
A popular ‘Mobile Library’ operates through the parish: the frequency and actual day varies according to location. (See Staffordshire County Council web pages).
Several surgeries in the district, notably in Lichfield, Burntwood and Rugeley, and locally, provide the full range of medical attention expected both in practice and home visits.
Similarly there are many Dental Practices serving parishioners.

Longdon Parish enjoys a central position in the country and so benefits from excellent transport links to all regions.
Excellent national and local services run from Lichfield City (local, incl. Birmingham); Lichfield Trent Valley (local, and main line N & SE); Rugeley Town (local,incl. Walsall); Rugeley Trent Valley (local, and main line N & SE); Chasetown (local, incl. Birmingham). All within 4 miles of the parish.
Regrettably, there are currently no scheduled bus services that run to or from our villages.
Several local/Lichfield/Rugeley/Burntwood taxi firms serve the parish including Airport runs.
Birmingham International Airport with its own worldwide routes and with express connections to Heathrow and Gatwick is within 25 miles; East Midlands Airport is within easy reach and Manchester Airport is also convenient.

Supply and service is available from any of the main providers with their own contact arrangements.
Water and Waste
Both are provided by South Staffordshire Water plc in conjunction with Severn Trent Water Ltd.
Household rubbish removal from residents in the parish is carried out by Lichfield District Council with the normal two-plus-one bin system operating on a 2-week basis (bank holidays excepted).
District Council operated recycle centres are:
- Lichfield, Trent Valley Road (closed Monday and Tuesday)
- Burntwood, Ring Road, Chase Terrace (closed Wednesday and Thursday)
- Rugeley, Station Road (closed Wednesday and Thursday)
